The low building on the right looks as if it is someone's garage, but in fact is the modern access to the bunker, through an anonymous-looking steel door. Stadium Housing Association acquired the plot for the social housing redevelopment which now occupies the site, along with an obligation to maintain the bunker and open it to the public on 2 days a year. Maintenance and access is supervised by Subterranea Brittanica, a group of enthusiasts and historians who specialise in researching Britain's underground facilities.
